The great bedroom switch

Isabelle hasn't wanted to sleep in her own bed in forever. She constantly wants to sleep in the Queen size bed in the guest room (otherwise known as Meme's room LOL!). I thought it was because she wanted me to sleep with her, but we haven't done that in a while. I sometimes lay down with her while she is falling asleep, but I don't stay very long and she knows that I won't be there when she wakes up. I was talking to my Mom about it when she was visiting and she suggested that she wants to sleep in that room because it is darker and quieter.

I have been talking to Izzy about moving her bed into the guest room and moving the Queen size bed into her room and she has been excited about the idea. So I did it. One afternoon I just went ahead and did it. And of course the little booger is still sleeping in the Queen size bed. She didn't care what room it was in she just wants to sleep in it. I asked her why she wanted to sleep in that bed and she said because it has two pillows. Can't freaking believe it. She has also told me that I should move the beds back. AAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!! I don't think so. Too much work.

The two pillow thing gets me because when I was a kid, I thought it was so grown-up to have two pillows on a bed and begged my mother to let me have a bigger bed.

When the girl we hire as a babysitter was around 10 or 11, she told me she begged her mom to let her have a bigger bed because she wanted two pillows.

I just zoned in on that in this post....don't mind me, LOL.

Hey Lisa. I came your way via a comment you left on Shannon's blog.

I totally understand what you're feeling about diabetes, only I see it from the other side. I'm 28 years old and was diagnosed with diabetes when I was six. I've spent almost my entire life as a diabetic, but I want you to know that diabetes hasn't stopped me from living a very good, very full life. I work hard at my job, I have a loving and supportive network of friends and family, and I just became engaged to the most wonderful man in the world (at least as far as I'm concerned!).

I've been reading through your posts and I know from experience that it's parents like you that make the burden of diabetes so much easier for us kids to carry.

I've been blogging about my life with diabetes over at Six Until Me, if you'd like to visit. I have over a hundred diabetes blogs listed in my blogroll, ranging from adults diagnosed two weeks ago to the parents of diabetic children to people who have been living with this disease for decades, like I have. If you have a moment, check out some of those blogs.

Take comfort in the fact that you aren't alone in this, and neither is your daughter. If there is ever anything I can do, please feel free to email me at kerri @ sixuntilme dot com.

Best,
Kerri.

Kerri I love reading your blog! Thanks for the comment and the support. Reading your blog helps me to think about what Isabelle will be going through and feeling down the line. It is hard to really figure out what she is feeling about this huge change in her life. Thanks for your blog!

That's cute about the pillows and bed. I'm actually thinking of getting rid of Taylor's crib and giving her a big bed soon for this same reason of not sleeping well.
